Sunday Field Trip

It was quite an adventure Sunday, and a long day for me - 11 hours from door to door at Mt. Baldy.

There were 6 members on the trip who had been to Clarke Lake before, some several times. With GPS and guides, it was still a long trip in, complete with a missing bridge, trees across the road, and road replaced by a creek.

Members moved some rock and moved people from small SUV's into the trucks to carry on the last leg of the journey.

Thank you Luis for all the tree clearing you did - John and Dennis for the power saws, and Luis for extricating the tree top from the undercarriage of my truck.

One family chose to turn back at the creek crossing. (probably a wise decision). We eventually did get close to the desired location, but it required a hike after lunch. New member John's son works for a ranch that has cattle in the area, and will find out if there is an easier route if we choose to go there again.

Thank-you Donna and Dennis for doing the shopping and preparing lunch. We had a brief business meeting, which I will cover in a separate post.

After lunch, some of us chose to skip the hike and have a visit.

....and the road becomes a creek
