July 15 – 16th update
Greenwood Founders Day - Saturday was interesting with lots of unique experiences and events. we had 8 members take part.
On Sunday, we had 11 originally commit, but 7 made the trip to Phoenix as others had last minute changes to their plans. We stopped on the mountain for copper and chalcopyrite on the way up. had a nice shared lunch on- top of the mountain. We went to the east face to collect lead, galena, and mineral samples. We journeyed down the north east road to the highway and then ventured homeward. Most responses were positive to a good day.
We discussed the possibility of another summer outing towards the end of August to the Tulameen area. Low water and recent yearly flooding may have produced an opportunity for some good picking. WILL UPDATE IN AUGUST.
